Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Info: Email, username, and optional profile photo when you create an account. Guest users do not need to provide any personal information.

Location Data: Your device location is used to find nearby comfort rooms and calculate distances. Location is only accessed while the app is in use and requires your explicit permission.

User Content: Reviews, ratings, photos, CR submissions, votes, and reports you create.

Device Info: Basic device information for app functionality, crash reporting, and push notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Show nearby comfort rooms sorted by distance (Near, Midway, Far)
• Display your reviews, ratings, and votes to the community
• Filter CRs by category (malls, restaurants, gas stations, hospitals, schools, offices, public toilets) and amenities (bidet, tissue, soap, aircon, PWD access, changing table)
• Verify uploaded photos using AI to ensure they are of actual restrooms
• Moderate reviews and CR submissions using AI content verification
• Track your badge progress and achievements
• Send notifications about votes on your reviews and submission updates

3. AI Processing

Shittable uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) for two purposes:

Photo Verification: Photos you upload are sent to our AI system to confirm they show actual comfort rooms. The AI analyzes the image content and returns a pass/fail result. Photos are not used for AI training.

Content Moderation: Review comments and CR submission data are checked by AI to filter spam, gibberish, and off-topic content. This helps maintain content quality for all users.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). Photos are stored in secure cloud storage buckets (separate buckets for CR photos, review photos, avatars, and report photos). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your personal data. The following is visible to other users:

• Your username and profile photo
• Your reviews, ratings, and photos
• Your vote counts on reviews
• Your earned badges

Your email address and exact location are never shared with other users. We may use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics purposes.

6. Location Privacy

Your exact location is never shared with other users or third parties. We use it only to:

• Calculate distances to nearby CRs
• Show your approximate area (city/district) on the home screen
• Display CRs on the map relative to your position

You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The app will still work but cannot show distance-based results.

7. Guest Accounts

Guest users can use Shittable without providing personal information. Guest data is tied to an anonymous session. If you upgrade to a full account, your guest activity (reviews, submissions) is preserved and linked to your new account.

8. Your Rights

You can:

• View all your reviews and submissions from your profile
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Update your username, email, or profile photo
• Upgrade from a guest account to a full account
• Opt out of push notifications in your device settings

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Anonymized reviews may be retained for community benefit.

10. Children's Privacy

Shittable is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
